Tupelov TU-144 Inspired Paper Airplane
The Tupelov TU-144 was the first supersonic passenger jet to take to the skies. It’s first flight was on December 31, 1968 an entire 2 months before the first flight of the Concorde. Did you ever get a chance to fly on the TU-144? Me neither. But I did get to fly this paper airplane version of it, a HobbyCaptain original.
Here is the Tupelov TU-144 paper airplane pattern, canards and all.

Tupelov Super Sonic Paper Airplane Instructions:
- If you’re new to these paper airplane patterns start here: paper airplane instructions
- Print the paper airplane pattern in the pdf, make sure that your printer is set to “full scale” or “scale 100%”
- Look over the paper airplane pattern to get an idea of the folds
- Place the paper on a table blank side up, this will help you keep the folds going in the correct direction
- Crease along line 1 – 10 by folding then unfolding along the line, you should see the line when folded
- Crease along line 2 – 4 by folding then unfolding along the line, the line should be hidden in the fold, ( I found it helpful to make this fold in both directions to make the crease more pronounced)
- Fold along line 3, you should see the line when the fold is made
- Fold along line 2 – 4, the line should be hidden in the crease of the fold
- Fold along line 5, you should see the line when the fold is made
- Repeat the same steps for lines 6 – 8, 7, 9 on the opposite side
- Fold along line 1 – 10 you should see the line when folded
- Fold along lines 11, 11 fold them to about 70 to 90, theses form the wings, try to fold the second side to match the first side
- Cut out along line 12 and a section of 2 – 4
- Fold along lines 13 to form small vertical stabilizers, about 70 to 90 degrees
- Place a paper clip near the nose, it really helps with this one
